Pavel joined AVANEA in 2022 as the Head of Finance & Operations and a Member of theBoard of Directors. Pavel is a senior professional with experience in both public and private sectors, primarily in structuring, negotiating and executing both equity & debt deals, as well as with experience in financial management.
Before AVANEA, Pavel was Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors at Slovak Investment Holding, an asset manager established to support public and private investments via the implementation of complex financial instruments (equity investments, issuing of portfolio risk sharing guarantees and providing risk-sharing loans) to supportSMEs.
Before his time at Slovak Investment Holding, Pavel was Deputy CEO and Member of theBank Board (Board of Directors) at Export-Import Bank of the Slovak republic, responsible for the Banking Division; his responsibility included overall leadership for business development and structuring and monitoring of banking transactions with a focus on banking products & solutions provided to local corporates (exporters).
Pavel was also Director (Senior Relationship Manager for Slovakia) within the Corporate &Investment Banking at BNP Paribas, he was responsible for business development and key account management in Slovakia as well as for deal originations with a focus on value-added investment & corporate banking products. Pavel also worked for Deloitte within the financial advisory services team and for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Pavel holds a master’s degree in National Economics Theory & Policy from the University of Economics in Bratislava.
